When locals are authors too. Pilgrim’s Way supports this indie author.

My first book published in the middle of COVID. I was left to my own devices as to how to get the word out about my book. Our charming local bookstores all did what the could, namely setting aside some shelf space for my little book.

First up was BookWorks in Pacific Grove, then came River House Books in the Carmel Crossroads. Followed by Downtown Book and Sound in Salinas. Then, last week, a call from Pilgrim’s Way Books. I’ve savoring each and every outreach.

If you haven’t been to Pilgrim’s Way at 6th and Dolores, it’s worth the trip. First, it’s been a mainstay of downtown Carmel by the Sea for more than 50 years. And the owners Paul Fridlund & Cynthia Fernandes relatively recently (2001) expanded by incorporating the The Secret Garden, a truly charming garden shop with its handmade gifts, wind chimes and fountains.
