The son-in-law dilemma: facilitator or blinders-on bystander?
I’ve been asked, what about the son-in-law? Does he have a role to play? Where does he fit in these minefield dynamics? The answer is, yes, he has a key role to play, if he chooses to step up and into it. He can be a gift for the mother-in-law or a passive partner to dysfunction. That said, this guy? Poor baby. Stuck in the middle. As you know (if you read the book), his situation would be envied by his fellow SILs.
